SWSC Speed & Performance Training is designed to help players develop the physical tools required to compete at a higher level of soccer.

Modern soccer demands more than technical ability. Speed, agility, and endurance play a critical role in a player’s ability to compete, recover, and perform consistently throughout the match. This program focuses on developing explosive acceleration, efficient movement, and overall athletic performance.

Training sessions are structured to improve key physical components, including sprint mechanics, change of direction, balance, coordination, and injury prevention. Players learn how to move more efficiently, react faster, and maintain intensity throughout the game.

The first phase of each session focuses on biomechanics and movement quality. Athletes work on sprint form, footwork, and body control using structured drills designed to build proper technique and reduce injury risk.

In the second phase, players apply these physical skills in game-like situations. High-intensity intervals combined with technical actions help athletes perform under fatigue, simulating the demands of real match play.

This program is ideal for players who:

  • Want to improve speed and acceleration
  • Need to enhance agility and quickness
  • Are preparing for higher levels of competition
  • Want to reduce injury risk through proper movement training

Sessions are offered as supplemental training and can be added to a player’s regular schedule. Flexible packages allow families to focus on performance development at key points during the season.

At SWSC, our goal is to help players become faster, stronger, and more efficient athletes — giving them the physical edge needed to compete and perform at their best.

Southwest Soccer Club has coached players in the Temecula Valley since 2001, and soccer agility & fitness is one way we help training players keep developing. Over more than 25 years we have worked with every level, from first-time beginners to college-bound athletes.

In our experience, the first question a family asks is whether a program fits their child right now, so we start with a free evaluation rather than a sales pitch. Over 25 seasons we found that players placed at the right level improve faster and stay in the game longer, which is exactly what this program is built to support.

Two things matter to every soccer parent: safety and coaching. On safety, the CDC's HEADS UP program explains the concussion signs every family should recognize. On coaching, our director holds the USSF “A” License, the highest coaching qualification in U.S. soccer, earned by fewer than 1% of American coaches.
